Designed to be the first of a series of planned residential regeneration of the old Nairobi Council estates, Pangani Housing is a development of 1500 no. 1, 2, and 3 bedroom affordable and social housing units on a 5-acre site located just minutes away from the Nairobi Central Business District.

Rising to 18 floors, the development was conceptualized to create a sense of both vertical and horizontal community spaces and amenities. Ground and lower ground floors house extensive small scale retail spaces and parking. The courtyard houses games and recreational areas.

The residential units are arrayed along very wide shared corridors that shall serve as not just circulation space, but also gathering spaces in which neighbors can interact. Each unit was designed to be an efficient repeated module in order to eliminate construction wastage and make sure that construction could be executed as fast as possible.
